Never mind aliens in outer space. Some scientists believe we may be sharing the planet with 'weird' lifeforms that are so different from our own they're invisible to us

HI Arif --

Many thanks for this interesting piece of news.

We have argued before that it is within the spirit of Darwinism to consider
that 'life' has evolved from simpler and simpler forms of 'disequilibrium chemistry'...

So the idea of alternative molecular pathways diverging very early on
from some initial form -- one along the known pathways of biochemistry;
others perhaps along unknown (as yet) chemical pathways -- seems not so
strange as it might at first seem.

Your message also reminds us about our plans and actions --
I think it is too late now to do anything about the Lund meeting
that Ozge called our attention to.  Unless someone already did something --(?)
Maybe Ozge...(?)

But about the London meeting -- I think an abstract has to be in early
in order to stand a fair chance of a free registration.
I think that latest form -- in which we lean more on the
"Fermi problem", than just repeating the physical model we published before --
could, or should, be sent soon, and unless there is further comment
I would propose to send our reply to Dr Brucato in this next day or so....

Hope that's ok.

Best wishes,
Ed
