Controlling and driving stepper motors within a modular PLC system: The TM StepDrive technology guarantees a high-precision current adjustment and enables fine positioning up to 1/256 step (approx. 51,200 positions per revolution (0.0070/step) with a 200 stepper motor).
In addition to STEP 5, Siemens offered a proprietary State logic programming package called Graph5. Graph5 is a sequential programming language intended for use on machines that normally run through a series of discrete steps. It simulates a State machine on the S5 platform.
We can see "switch.plc_light_0" entity ID is finally connected to "DB1, X0.0" in Node-RED. Back to previous step, in PLC, it is define "DB1.DBX0.0". Take note this discrepency.
Hi, a neighbor asked me to be able to control his existing simatic v5.5 installation on as7300 via his phone. I regularly work in node Red/ home assistant. So my only questions are about step 7 as I have never worked with simatic. Could you provide a little more information on this part? Yours is the only example I am finding not using Tia portal.
Did you have to grant any special permissions in SIMATIC?
How did you configure the s7 nodes in node Red? It's the port for SIMATIC always at a default value? Or did you use MPI/ppi
Will the s7 in node automatically cycle through all the racks? I am seeing that you used 4 different s7 in nodes so I am curious how it was configured.
Thanks for the great work. I would like to understand the plc aspect better before I start reconfiguring his existing and stable running plc configuration.
Using the following guides and tools, INTACS have made life easier for you to understand the issues to consider in making the progression from Step 7 Classic (v5.5, v5.4 etc) to Step 7 within TIA-Portal.TIA-Portal system requirements
