Hello. The Dropbox App on my Windows 10 PC isn't launching any more. I've used this Dropbox setup for years, have made no changes to my PC (Windows 10) or security (that I'm aware of), yet when I click on the Dropbox tray icon (or from the actual Program app location on the C drive) I get the normal "progress spin pop up" for 3 seconds, then nothing. I Rebooted the PC = nothing. I uninstalled the App using Revo Uninstaller, Restarted, Reloaded = works once, close, then attempt to open Dropbox again = same problem. I checked the Community posting, but no luck. I opened Task Manager to the Dropbox processes, opened "Details" and this is the screenshot. I don't know if this is meaningful information. Suggestions? Thanks.
Hello, here's an update to this launch problem. Dropbox is still not opening properly when attempting to launch from the Taskbar Icon, or the Windows Program list, or from the app in the C drive programs folder. But, in the System Tray is another Dropbox Icon, and clicking that launches Dropbox, and it appears to be working properly. So, while the overall behavior is disconcerting, I'll be working with this approach until I find an entirely new approach to managing my files in the cloud.

I have new HP Spectre laptop that is running Windows 11. The dropbox app from the Microsoft Store was working perfectly since I bought this laptop about 4 months ago. Then a few days ago it the app wouldn't open. I fiddled around until I was able to copy a link from the web. I moved that smaller looking icon to my taskbar and it seems to be working now. I honestly don't know what I did. It's NOT the original app I got from the Microsoft Store. Im attaching a screenshot.

It sounds like the S Mode version doesn't have all of the features. I mentioned earlier that I'm not sure how I got the icon that I have, but it seems to be working and syncing with my Android phone and iPad.
Nathan,
This happened to me last week. Ensure that you do not have Java SE Runtime Environment 8u51. It might have upgraded automatically. I had to uninstall all Java versions then I installed a fresh copy of 8u45. Works perfectly again.
1: Installed Java 1.8.45 32bit
2: Installed Ignition 7.7.4 32 bit
3: Ran Designer with no issues.
4: Restored Gateway from Backup
5: Runtime App runs fine. Console loads and logs.
6: Attemted to load the Designer: Does not load. Get the Java splash then disappears, Java Console Does not load. No logs or traces are logged via java. Able to see either jp2launcher.exe or javaws.exe popup in the taskmanager, then disappears when the java splash goes away.
I had the same behavior only just on the client, the designer worked fine. I could launch clients from other servers just not this one. Not sure the root cause but uninstalling 32 bit java on my laptop solved the issue for now.
It seems I am encountering the known problem of Creo failing to launch. When I double click on the Creo Parametric Icon the loading indication begins, however stops approximately one second later, with the program appearing and disappearing within Task Manager as well.
I've tried disabling my graphics cards and starting the program, as well as adding "graphics win32_gdi" to the end of the config.pro file, with no success. Although I was not sure which config.pro File it should be added to as there are three, however I tried them all. I'm also about to attempt another reinstallation.
Thanks for your reply however unfortunately I'm not sure what your referring to. I don't have any VPNs activated, nor do I really know what a suspicious network card would look like within command prompt ipconfig. I've gone through disabling all but the required network for internet access, with no success.
I've reinstalled a third time however still with no success. During install it wouldn't accept the original Licence Code anymore, so I had to use one of the previous Licence Documents that I was emailed. Could this cause another problem?
in your license file you can find HOSTID=PTC_HOSTID= string. The value following it is physical address of network card. Therefore you have to enable network card with physical address specified in license file to be able to launch Creo. Also this network card must be connected to network.
The files should be named "config.pro", with one exception. Be careful if you have hide extensions for known file types turned on, you may have it saved as config.pro.txt and not realize it. There is a special config file named "config.sup" that must be in location #1. It's loaded first and any options in it cannot be changed by later files.
Given that everything seems to indicate that this is a Graphics issue. Why if I put graphics win32_gdi into the config.pro file, is this still not working? I also found a help document which included a download of the config.pro file with two text alternatives, none of which worked.
Not necessarily. I've recently dealt with similar problem. It started similarly to OP, where Creo 4.0 didn't even load xtop.exe and nothing was helping (switching to win32gdi, removing configs, clearing cache etc.). Then I found something in PTC's KB that got me thinking maybe my VPN client is causing problems, so I removed it and Creo started to load, just to throw fatal error with traceback.log file at startup.
In the end it turned out Creo had some problem with virtual ethernet cards installed by VirtualBox. When I removed VB, Creo started to launch again. What's more, after installing VB again, problem didn't return Apparently there was something botched with network interfaces which caused problems with Creo 4.0. On the other hand, on the same machine I also have Creo 2.0, 3.0 and 5.0 and all of them worked perfectly, it was only Creo 4.0 that had problems.
I've spent the last two days trying to install desktop TurboTax Standard Version 2022. I've tried twice from the purchased CD and twice by downloading it from the website. Between each I uninstalled the app, deleted the program directory, cleaned the registry, cleared the cached and restarted my PC. It seems I'm able to successfully install to TurboTax but when I launch it it won't go past the logo screen so I can enter my license!
I've also checked the following: 1) Windows 11 up to date 2) All drivers up to date 3) Reinstalled Windows C++ current version. I've spoken to two Intuit support staff, one connected to my PC to assist, he ended up referring me to Microsoft. I called Microsoft and they check everything out and referred me back to Intuit. As it's very difficult for an Intuit user to find this support forum I suspect only a small percentage have been able to report this issue. I'm at my wits end, as I'm sure most users are!!!
Make sure you don't have any online tracking software to improve your privacy such as CCleaner's Kamo installed as this will prevent TurboTax from launching. Just stopping it doesn't make a difference, you need to remove it from your PC!
There is no white box. In the center of my screen is the square blue logo with the red circle checkmark and the title Intuit turbotax ... there is no turbotax indicator in my taskbar to show it's running ... when I check taskmaster it shows CPU=0%, Memory=36.8mb .... it's like the app just stops and doesn't proceed to where you enter your license number.
When will intuit have a fix so that I can use my TurboTax. I figured I'd try and install it on a Windows 10 PC but the exact problem happens, seems to install OK but when you launch the application it just site on the blue intro screen!!! I bought this a few weeks ago and still no resolution.
I have the same problem. I cannot register my license code. I click the blue "Activate Outside"button and it brings me to a totally blank turbotax web page. A dead end. See below. This is the very first glitch I have encountered with Turbo Tax software (I believe) since I have started using them for 10+ years. I hope Turbo Tax tech support can solve this...otherwise I'd like a refund for my purchase at my local Shoppers Drug Mart.
I was able to activate it, then it disappeared from the screen. Task Manager shows tt2022.exe using anywhere from 10-30% CPU and nothing happens. Tried restarting and made sure Windows was up to date. Is this still a known issue as per the post from 1+ month ago above?
I've tried reinstalling several times; I've worked through the all the various suggestions in the Kontakt Crashes article; I've updated Windows; but none of it has changed this (non) startup behavior. I've used dxdiag to make sure that my GPU drivers support the required features (up to DirectX 11.1).
@alfalfa crab I'm not sure what you meant that doesn't work in this thread. I didn't put any solution in here and few people chimed in with slightly different issues. Also originally, this thread is from June 2023. I'll close this thread to avoid this in the future. If you have a more specific issue and still need some help, please create a new thread.
NI told me that the reason I can't run 7.3.2 is that my machine is too old. It runs 6.8 easily. Weird how my machine runs Cubase 12 Pro, Wavelab and loads of other applications. What's so special about 7.3.2?
According to some users at the Reaper forum, the problem occures when an Audio Device (USB Interface) is selected in Kontakt but it is currently not connected to the Computer. Do you have multiple audio interfaces? and you originally assigned Audio Device 1 to Kontakt, but now you use Audio Device 2 and your other device is disconnected?
