1Are you using a post script driver? That model does not come standard with PS. Use the PCL6 driver. The machine will rev up and discard a job if sent with a PS driver without PS installed.

2. Do you have to enter a code to make copies? You may need to enter a code on the job handling tab of the driver. The same thing will happen, the machine will rev up and discard the job sent without a user code attached to it.

The steps here are for printers with CUPS printer drivers. Most newer printers use AirPrint. For these printers, you will need to access the Remote UI to perform maintenance operations from your computer.

The Utility tab only appears when using the CUPS printer driver. If you are using macOS 12 or later, the AirPrint driver is added by default. Click here for instructions on adding the CUPS printer driver in macOS 12 or later.

Everytime i send a job to the printer the printer brings up a message on the LCD saying that i need to load paper into the MP tray. I have A4 paper loaded into cassette 1 as that is what i want to use as the MP tray is impractoial for the location of the printer.

I have combed through the settings on multiple different occassions about trying to solve this issue. I have ensured that the default paper source is Cassette and not MP tray but for some reson it is still wanting to print from the MP tray until i go over to the printer and select the only paper option that is in the list when setting paper size for MP tray. The printer will then print the job using the paper fromn Cassette 1.

I have had a look at the cassette tray for the printer and everything is correctly aligned with the paper size. Yes i am using just plain A4 paper. I have tried to print a windows test page from the settings but i still receive the error even when i print that.

I have tried printing PDF, Word docs and excel spreadsheets but all had the same issue. I went in to the printer properties in excel, word and Adobe Acrobat and i can change the the tray selection under the paper/quality tab. I have changed it from automatically select to cassette 1 and when i do this it prints with no issue. However, when the application is restarted regardless of what software it is it default back to automatic in that menu. So that every time that i want to print something i would have to go into the settings of the software and change it so that it will not bring up the error on the printer. Any other ideas as to what could be wrong and how i could fix it.

If you want that as your default setting you have to go into the print driver under the advanced tab as set it as a printing default (button on the bottom). then restart the applications and they should use that print setting automatically

ICC output profiles characterize the colour gamut (range) for the combination of printer, ink and paper. By using colour management you can enable the optimum gamut transition from the monitor view (for example AdobeRGB), to the gamut your printer is able to print.

The profiles we provide are RGB profiles for use with your print driver and your graphic application (no RIP-software). All profiles have been verified through test prints.

Hahnemhle provides profiles for professional photo-printers with UV-protected pigment inks for FineArt printing. We try to keep this area up to date and it is continually expanded. Profiles for old printer models and papers can be found in the special archive area.

Printer Installer is a campus service to make adding, configuring, and maintaining printers easier. Once the PrinterLogic Client software has been installed on your managed Berkeley Desktop PC or Mac, simply visit: to discover and add the printers you need.

You can customize the printer settings on your machine after a printer has been added. However, if printer drivers need to be changed or updated, these changes will likely cause your custom settings to be lost, as the settings may not migrate to a new driver. If you choose to make any customizations to printer preferences, we recommend that you take note of what changes you make in case you find that you must reapply these to a new driver.
