Is there a multi-node implementation for the java backend (v2.0.6)? We
are running some tests on a separate cluster from 3 musketeers. We are
assuming that we should be using the instructions here (http://
dist.codehaus.org/x10/documentation/install/linux-cl-install.html) to
run on more than one node.

There is a multi-node implementation for the Java backend, under development. It is available via the multivm branch of SVN head.
However, you should not use it for your homework. (Since this is not yet released there is a fair bit of work to do to understand its limitations, what works, what doesnt.)
