Why am i getting this message now, I've used magix movie edit pro and downloaded and installed the codex that its asking for, is this after the activation code I got when I first bought the product or is it now after more money. How do i find out the activation code I bought this software over a year ago.
I've never used the Main Concept MP4 codec so I can't comment on the activation method for it but I have, in the dim dark days when I had to buy for example an MP3 encoder upgrade in 2003 (honestly!), always had an email with the activation code. These codes have to be applied when anything "substantial" happens to the computer such as Windows upgrades or even a new hard drive or complete computer.
It could be that you have to "switch on" the codec. Look at -codec--1097117/ and see if that helps, otherwise surely you just have to log into the Magix account you used to register the program and codec initially.
Hello guys, thank you both for your replys. I've just started using MMEP again to upload vids to youtube. Your right that I don't need the codec and have been uploading, Its just odd that I did have the codec and now I do not. Whats the deal. Anyway, I'm good my end, if asked for anymore money thou I'm changing software, I don't like have things taken away after already paying. cheers anyways.
Some members of the forums mentioned that some features have removed with various auto updates, however it does not seems to affect me much. May be I am a novice user and do not need such powerful features.

I've tried encoding just a portion of the video file instead of the whole thing using the same settings and when I bring this into Encore it recognizes it as Blu-ray legal and sets it to "Don't Transcode".
The imported file is a only-video file .264. I had edited the whole video in my Avid Media Composer - I never have worked with Premiere - and then I exported the file and encoded it with the MainConcept Reference BluRay-Encoder (CBR, 35Mbps) to a .264 video and an .ac3 audio file. And finally I want to import these files to Encore to add chapters and compile a bluray... without any re-transcoding...
A .264 file from x264Pro or MeGUI that is BD-legal will import into En and be automatically set to Do Not Transcode. So the file extension isn't the problem. There are some esoteric H.264 parameters in x264 that must be set precisely in order to have En set the .264 file to DNT. I suspect those same parameters will have to be set in MainConcept's encoder.
Well, x264 isn't part of En and I think the OP is using the stand-alone MainConcept encoder. H.264 Blu-ray from either Pr or En using the built in MC encoder always produces files that don't transcode in En if a proper preset is used.
Nevertheless, I have the impression that Encore also uses the MainConcept, because in the advance settings of the transcoding, in the line "Codec" the "MainConcept" is displayed (I cannot change this and cannot see other possibilities of Encding codecs).

GPU-accelerated rendering with the MainConcept AVC format can fail if your system has an NVIDIA CUDA driver but no NVIDIA CUDA-capable GPU is installed. This will result in an error dialog when as soon as you try to render with the MainConcept AVC format. To fix this, uninstall the NVIDIA CUDA driver, or Render using CPU Only in the Customize Render Dialogue.
I was getting the exact same error with an ATI Radeon 5770 video card. I noticed that the 11.2 drivers were mentioned on the Sony website. They said anything above a certain driver, but I had a hunch and decided to try it. I had loaded the latest driver version 11.11 and GPU accelleration for the MainConcept encoder was a no go. I downloaded the 11.2 drivers and did a custom uninstall related to the OpenCL SDK. I then I did a custom install for the same SDK from 11.2 instead of 11.11. It worked and started encoding immediately without the error. There are issues with the current drivers that still need to be resolved.
