I reformatted a notebook and installed Win7 and running Synaptics
software 15.2.20. Whenever I scroll on the right side of the touchpad,
there's this ugly icon with a circle thing. Whenever I do a two-finger
scroll, this ugly scrollbar icon also shows up. I wanted to ask if
anyone knew how to get rid of this, or at least the circle icon.
Thanks.

Uninstall the Synaptics software, Windows 7 should have a generic
driver that would work just fine with touchpads.

The touchpad does work by default upon a clean install, but I believe
it did not have any scroll function. I guess it will be up to Synaptic
to determine whether it wants to add this function or not.

It's possible you might be able to search for an older version of the
driver from Synaptics, it should still work fine and maybe if lucky it
will not have the junky looking pictures on the screen.
