Sp3 encryption option...Now I installed a new fresh copy of windows Xp
sp3...(same as before) but I lost access to the files and the whole
folder, all names of files and folders are in green instead of
balck...
what do i need to do to restore these files, I have many important

 Chief,

If you encrypt data on your computer, you need a way to recover that data in case something happens to the encryption key. If your encryption key is lost or damaged and you don't have a way to recover your data, the data is lost. You will also lose data if you store your encryption key on a smart card and the smart card is damaged or lost. To make sure you can always access your encrypted data, you should back up your encryption certificate and key. Please try with this software I think It may help you but I am not sure.

Regards

Shams

Unfortunately, you can say goodbye to those files. Because you installed a fresh copy of XP a new SID was created. It is the SID + user ID (not the user name - the ID is a GUID number which MAY or may not be the same after the fresh copy install) + user password which is used to create the encryption key. And without that encryption key you will almost certainly never get back those files. Perhaps there might be some encryption cracker software which might recover them for you but I doubt it.

Actually I don't remember or I don't know exactly. But I think I made
them encrypted.
It's through right clicking the folder to properties and then through
the Advabced button to open window I think it contains a checkbox to
encrypt the folder. It is a windows xp
Thanks in advance if you can help me
