I have an Aspire 31-410p laptop with windows 8.1 installed and I play wild tangent games. I've been having trouble with some of the cake mania games getting the cursor to show up correctly.  I get a flashing trail of stars instead of a pointer. They have had me change my resolution because I was also having those black bars on the sides. I checked with Intel and downloaded their utility to check for driver updates and they say my video card is up to date as of 9/30/14. It seems to me a graphics issue though.  I have java up to date and Adobe flash is pre-installed.  If I play the games in windowed mode I don't have an issue,  but would rather not.  Also the game in question says I have to change my resolution to 1280×800, but my computer won't let me do that. I changed it to 1024×768 ,but it just says I have to change it to that resolution.  So I can't play it properly.  It slows me down because I can't always see the stars. They aren't much help with this issue thus far. Anyone have any ideas?

I thought Intel was tops when it came to computers. Anyway well buying a new one isn't really an option.  I kind of thought a touch screen computer with windows 8 waa going to be a pretty good computer and should satisfy my needs. I'll just play the games I can make work.  Yes a lot of others have complained about problems playing the game.

You cannot really expect too much as far as gaming acceleration goes with an Intel video solution.  I assume your model is an E1 and not a 31 acer.  These types of notebooks are generally used for email and light internet use, you might want to get a different laptop that has higher video capabilities.

This is just a guess, as I have read system requirements and they don't seem high, but a lot of people are complaining about the game not working as it should.

I see. Ok I guess that I should not expect a laptop to handle too much. THanks

Intel makes fantastic processors, SSD drives, and motherboards.  Even the latest integrated graphics solution is a big step up from the previous gen, but we are still lacking in the graphics areas.
