Senior having so much trouble with my lap top.

I am a senior and I am not a computer wiz by far. My lap top started slowing down, I had a  guy clean it for me, I got it back it worked even poorer than before. This is what is happening, I get a pop up my page is not responding including  msn, my mail page and anything I go into, sometimes 3 times before I can get into the  area I want.  I am typing I look up as I watch the key board and there is no print or new paragraphs are in the middle of another. I can be reading or writing a  email and msn page will come up or I can be on my homepage and the top of the page is part of my email page. Is this all a virus causing this or is my Lenovo going bad. I can also hear the fan running for periods of time. The lap top is just about 5 years old..

What I did was I have free Avast virus protection, that runs daily but I ran a full scan, a boot scan, malware scan, spybot and the cleaner with no help. I cleared my cookies first.

I have ordered a H/P  lap top and I need to know should I transfer everything from this computer to the new lap top or will I be sending viruses into the new one? If I am unable too I have no idea what will be set up on the new one as too mail etc.

does it pay to buy premium virus protection.  also I lie to play games on my lap top, can I play them on this lap top or since I am having these problems should I trash this p.c. How do you make a restore disc?

I posted a reply but must have done something wrong I deleted the post.

My lap top is on back order but I bought monster flash drive 32Gb,Should I run this now or wait until my new lap top arrives> does it matter what slot I put the flash drive in? Will the flash keep my info or do I still need to make a recovery disc.?

Should I buy the anti-virus you suggested now or wait for the new lap top, I only want that anti-virus for the new one, can I put a free one on this old lap top.?

I ran all my cleaners, boot scan, malware etc  but still have this pop up when I turn my lap top on Lenovo veriface/verify host exec.

I have windows 7 and the new lap top is windows 10, will running the flash drive change that to 7. Sorry for all the ?/ hopefully I will get this lap top up and running soon..
