Qualitative and Quantitative Approximations for Data Analysis.
We introduce closure and kernel operators on ordered sets and show via Formal Concept Analysis how this can be considered as qualitative information approximation.
On the other hand we show how submodular and supermodular functions can be used for quantitative Approximation on lattices. In particular we show connections to Dempster-Shafer Theory, which approximates the concept of probability via the concepts of belief and plausibility. Finally we show how Rough Set Theory incorporates both concepts of qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
