The October 2007 KGS computer Go tournament will be next Sunday, October
7th, in the Asian avening, European morning and American night, starting
at 08:00 UTC (GMT) and ending about 14:00 UTC (GMT).

The Formal division will be a 6-round Swiss with 9x9 boards and 28
minutes each sudden death. The Open division will be a 4-round Swiss
with 13x13 boards and 43 minutes each sudden death. Both will use
Chinese rules with 7.5 points komi. There are details at
http://www.gokgs.com/tournInfo.jsp?id=324 for the Formal division, and
at http://www.gokgs.com/tournInfo.jsp?id=325 for the Open.

Registration is now open. To enter, please read and follow, as usual,
the instructions at http://www.weddslist.com/kgs/how/index.html. The
rules are given at http://www.weddslist.com/kgs/rules.html.

Registration emails (with the words "KGS Tournament Registration" in the
title as usual) should be sent to me at maproom at gmail dot com
(converted to a valid address in the obvious way).

Is it possible to update http://www.weddslist.com/kgs/names.html with details about the newer entrants? (kago, pagebot, and scottbot)

PS: The double-entries for HBotSVN, hb05, and HouseBot are still on that page.  The later set of descriptions that combine all HouseBot variants into one block should be preserved.

Now done.

Thank you for entering. GoTraxx is now registered for the Formal
division.

In future, please send your registrations to me at maproom at gmail dot
com. I cannot guarantee to read emails posted to this list.

At 08:00 GMT (=UTC, =Zulu time). I think that this is 01:00 in
California, but I am not sure how daylight saving applies there.

The page http://www.gokgs.com/tournInfo.jsp?id=324 allows me to specify
my time zone as "Pacific Standard Time (Los Angeles)", and then says
that it is using "PDT" and that the tournament starts at 01:00. (I find
it odd, and confusing, that the default timezone for that page is GMT,
but when I tell it to use GMT, it uses BST instead.)

Just to be clear, that's 1am California time.

Well, I knew it was California Daylight-Saving time. I've now checked,
and I see that Californis doesn't shift back to straight Pacific
Standard Time until November 4th. So, this tournament starts at 01:00
in California.
