The question repeatedly mentions 'vertices on the right' and 'vertices on the left' however which vertices are on the right or left is a totally arbitrary choice. I am trying to decode which ones you expect should be on the left but I think this is wrong. It should be made clear what vertices you expect us to put on the 'left' and what vertices to put on the 'right' since the answers to 4.2 and 4.3 depend on this arbitrary assignment.

As long as you specify which one is which, you would be fine. This is a
graduate class which means that the questions are more open ended than you
are used to. As a consequence we also accept more answers, as long as you
make it clear what you assume and what you did.
