Candidates will have completed their PhD in one of the following areas: Music Cognition, Machine Learning with Music/Audio, Deep Learning (preferably with either audio or symbolic music representations), Music Technology (e.g., Music Information Retrieval), Neuroscience/Experimental Psychology (auditory areas preferred), or a related field.

The candidate would contribute to projects at the intersection of music technology and health/therapy (for motor and cognitive rehabilitation and preventive healthcare for the elderly), or music cognition and AI (e.g., implementing neural networks and deep learning to simulate human music perception). Note that A*STAR has a focus on research applications that benefit society or advance science/technology.

The candidate would have knowledge of / skills in at least one of the following areas:

-       machine learning

-       programming neural networks

-       experience working with motion capture technology (such as the Kinect system or Leap Motion)

-       experience developing and testing technology-based musical therapies, applications, or interventions

Candidates with a hands on, proactive approach and problem-solving skills are strongly encouraged to apply. Knowledge of music psychology and music theory is strongly desired, as well as experience with app or software development.
