Dear all,

 

We are looking for panelists to lead a discussion on "Ethical considerations in computer simulation in music creativity." at the 3rd Conference on Computer Simulation of Musical Creativity at University College Dublin from 20^th to 22^nd August.

 

“A requirement for ethics is straightforward to argue when reviewing Killer Robots but is it perhaps needed when we’re dealing with Marimba playing Robots? Humans fascination with musical automation is an ancient one - and now with many actors from transnational corporations, the academy and start-ups engaged in a mission to create musical systems that require a minimum of human agency - Is it time to reflect on what an optimistic, human-centred ethical consideration might look like for music makers and developers?”

 

Interested participants should submit a brief description of the participant's perspective on the topic (100 words max) to roisin....@ucd.ie by Wednesday 15^th August.
