Dear All,
Dartmouth College is running the Turing Test in Creative Art for the
second time, and we'd like to bring it to your attention.
Call for Submission - Turing Test Competition in Creative Arts May 29 - Jun 1, 2017.
For 2017, our “Turing Test in the Creative Art” features two tracks:
Literary Arts and Human-computer Music Interaction. For the former,
competitors are asked to create machines that can produce sonnets and
complete short stories. For the latter, competitors are asked to create
artificial performers capable of performing “duets” with human
performers. An artificial agent passes this Turing test if human judges
cannot distinguish the machine output from human output given the same
challenge. The winners of each task category, PoetiX, DigiLit,
AccompaniX, and DanceX, will be awarded $2000 and the awarder system
will be presented at ICCC 2017. Prizes may also be given at the
discretion of the judges for outstanding efforts.
1. Please sent us a brief e-mail to: turin...@math.dartmouth.edu
with 1) your name 2) which competition(s) you intend to (PoetiX,
DigiList, AccompanimentX, and/or DanceX) and 3) which operation system
you prefer. Early emails are preferred to help us better plan the
competition and count the machines needed. We will add you to our
mailing list for any update purpose.
2. If you are participating the AccompaniX or DanceX taks, we encourage you to start working on your system early with our
sample data. The actual data will be different but in similar styles and
same formats.
3. Days before the competition, Linux and Windows users
will be given the account, password, and instructions to access the
virtual machines. This early access gives you plenty of time to install
any software that is not already on the server. For Mac users, the
timeline for software preparation a little tighter.
4. The official starting time for the competition is May 29, 8 am EST,
when the actual data for the competition will be released. The
competition will run for 3 days. Your remote login access will be ended
on Jun 1, 8 am EST.
Sincerely,
Turing Test Competition Committee, Dartmouth College
