To any body who can help....
What is the best and quickest way to cancel a CS account in the UK? Years
ago (when I joined) there used to be a way to do it on-line. I cannot find
the facility any more. I hesitate to do it by phone, as I will then have no
record of my instruction. If anyone ha this info,I would appreciate details
and necessary addresses or fax numbers.

Get on line with CompuServe and GO CANCEL. It will take you to a dialog of
instructions. You can no longer cancel a CompuServe account online, they
decided that was too easy and too many people were cancelling. Now they make
it harder to cancel in the hopes that less people will cancel. You have to
either write or call. I would recommend a registered letter, or whatever the
equivalent is in the UK, so that you get a return receipt from them when
they receive it. Then call and request an account cancellation. Good luck!
