Facebook Business accounts are not allowed not create or join any group chat. However, small business owners who use their personal Facebook accounts for business purposes can utilize group chats for sales and support.

End-to-end encryption is also possible. Enabling it prevents anyone, including Meta, from reading the content of your chat. However, these encrypted conversations are only available when setting up the group chat on mobile and iPad.

Messenger group chat is an excellent way for small business owners to foster relationships with customers and engage with them. We hope this article provides everything you need to know about Facebook Messenger group chat.

Facebook has announced that it's removing the group chat functionality that it launched in October last year, which was designed to facilitate more intimate discussion between group members, separate from post comments.

As noted by TechCrunch when the feature was launched, group chats are able to host up to 250 group members, who are not necessarily connected as friends, but are connected through a group. That means that any member of any group which hosts one of these chats has the capacity to spam these threads with their messaging, which would send a prompt to both Facebook and Messenger for each chat member.

Your alternative, at this stage, appears to be encouraging discussion in post comments, or starting a group chat with trusted connections, as opposed to all group members. That will be problematic for some, but it does appear that privacy concerns may be to blame.

I used my phone to send a message into a group chat, the character limit was 5000 characters, i presume that is because of the fact that it was via mobile + it was being sent to a group - multiple people.

Facebook, and its standalone messaging app, Messenger, have been the pillars of the social media revolution. While trendy platforms wax and wane in popularity, Facebook and Facebook Messenger seem to have endured it all. The said apps continue to receive updates on a regular basis, and come out even better than before, each time. In keeping with the unusual, unconventional times, Facebook has made some interesting updates to cater to the needs of its users stuck at home, such as revised Facebook Messenger group call limit and Facebook Message limit per day within Facebook Messenger Rooms. Read below to know how these changes affect you.

One of the updates Facebook has made to compete with the likes of Zoom, Duo, and others is Facebook Messenger Rooms. Added to the existing app, this feature allows a user to create Rooms where people can join in or drop out. While Zoom, Teams, and Google Meet are geared towards formal, business, or educational meetings, Facebook Messenger Rooms provides a more casual, informal setting. It too comes with certain pre-defined limits to make sure calls and groups run efficiently, and do not become a chaotic mess.

However, only 8 out of the 250 could be added on a video or voice call via Messenger. With the addition of Messenger Rooms, the Facebook Messenger group call limit has been increased. Now, as many as 50 people can join a call, at once.

I am a member of several open groups on Facebook, and I notice that in the group people are posting quite large posts. The suggestion from the group owner was that maybe the limit is different for groups.

Facebook Messenger Rooms is a video tool that allows up to 50 people to meet simultaneously with no time limit on the meeting. Facebook Rooms are available on personal profiles, in groups, and in events. It is not yet available on Pages directly, however a link can be created and shared (more on this later).

Facebook does not set a numerical limit on the number of people who can join a group, although as a group administrator, you can place some restrictions on which people join the group. After your group reaches 5,000 members, some group functions become unavailable.

A Facebook personal profile is limited to 5,000 friends, which is one reason public figures may prefer a page where they can have an unlimited number of fans. Groups are like pages in that they do not have a fixed limit on membership. Although Facebook recommends groups for relatively small gatherings of people who share a common interest, the site doesn't limit membership.

Messenger Rooms is the flagship of Facebook's new video-calling services. The free feature will allow Facebook and Messenger users to create group video calls of up to 50 people. By contrast, Messenger video calls are limited to eight people.

Facebook has announced that they are removing the group chat function that they launched in October last year. The original introduction of the group chat feature was to facilitate intimate discussions between group members that remained separate from post comments.

1 If you have more than 20 people in a chat, the following chat features are turned off: Outlook automatic replies and Teams status messages; typing indicator; video and audio calling; sharing; read receipts. The "Set Delivery Options" button (!) is also removed when private group chats contain more than 20 members.

It appears (undocumented) that for a button message type in the Facebook Bots chat system, there is a max of 3 buttons. This seems arbitrary and limiting. Does anyone know if there is a way to have more than 3 buttons?

Group owners and managers can also turn conversation history and message moderation on or off and set other options to limit user activity in the group. For an overview of the features that group owners and managers can control, see Add features and manage conversations in Google Groups.

You can create Microsoft 365 Groups from a variety of tools including Outlook, Outlook on the web, Outlook Mobile, SharePoint, Planner, Teams and more. Which tool you choose to start from depends on what kind of group you're working with. For example, at Microsoft we tend to start from Outlook when we're creating a Group organized around email and calendar. If the Group is for company-wide communication we tend to start with Yammer. For chat-based collaboration, we'd start our Group from Microsoft Teams.

However, there are limits, as the Messenger app is a free app from Facebook. For a video call, group vid call or chat size limit, message limits, call time limits, forwarding, etc. In this article, I am going to cover everything, so stay here to know about these limits on Facebook Messenger. Please have a look at the Infographics for easy understanding at the bottom of the article.

However, as of now, you can add up to 50 people to a group video chat or in a room on Messenger. Because Facebook Messenger Rooms allows you to add up to 50 people in a single Room (group video call).

Moreover, if you are thinking that how many users can you message at once in a group. Then the answer is you can message up to 150 people at once in the group. This means, you can launch a group chat and can message up to 150 people at once. (Source official Facebook Help Forum).

As per Facebook, there is no time limitation for video chat or video calls or group video calls, or Room Chat. You guys can extend the call as long as you want. However, this is for both Messenger calls, video calls, and Rooms video chat. The call or video call will end when you end it. There is no time limit on calling or video chatting on Facebook Messenger.

Many users are confused that there is no time limit only for Messenger Rooms. But they are wrong, anywhere in Facebook Messenger, you can start a video chat or call or a group chat and can extend it as long as you want unless you end it. I hope this may clear up your confusion.

Facebook has introduced Rooms for group video chat with a limit for adding up to 50 people in a single Room Video Call. However, there is no time limit for it. You can have unlimited sessions a day or an hour as you like, but remember for group chat messages there is a forwarding limit, you can forward a message to up to 5 people or groups. In a normal video chat, you can add up to 8 people but in a Room call, video chat up to 50 people.

Initially, groups were limited to 100 members, but a support request could get a group's limit raised as high as necessary as it approached the limit. In 2019, GroupMe stopped offering group member limit increases; however, the app increased the standard limit from 100 to 5000.[12]

GroupMe works by downloading the app or accessing the service online, and then forming an account by providing your name, cell phone number and a password, or connecting through a Facebook or Twitter account.[13] The service then syncs with your contacts and from that point forward the user can make groups, limited to 5000 members. An individual who is part of an active group has the ability to turn off notifications for the app; users will still receive the message, but will not be notified about it. Each group is given a label and assigned a unique number. Some of the features of the app include the ability to share photos, videos, locations, create events, and emojis from various packs.

A group message involves three or more recipients. The most interesting thing about group messages is that you do not need to invest in software to send group messages. Most mobile devices offer this functionality. There is, however, a limit on the number of recipients.

Group messages are not counted as a single message, i.e: if you have 10 recipients, you will be charged for 10 messages. Similarly, the phone may or may not open 10 different threads, which may also make it a bit difficult to manage all the conversations. In addition, all responses from your recipients will be received by every contact in the group text, which may not be ideal if you're sending out an announcement or asking a question that requires a response. To complicate matters more, if each of your contacts has a different brand of phone, the responses might show up both in the group chat and in individual messages to each recipient.
