Bob Dylan-obsessed Dad (Mattias Nordkvist) is morose, picking out downbeat Bob Dylan songs on his guitar. Grandma (Marie Göranzon) frets away, and urges Dylan to go and audition for this modern dance ensemble in Stockholm. Which eventually, Dylan does.

Raja stars as an intergalactic party girl in this half-animated/half-black and white video from new wave icons Blondie. The conclusion is heaven on earth, with queers of all kinds kissing, dancing and canoodling on a disco-esque dance floor.
One of the gayest videos of all time was ultimately censored and banned by both the BBC and MTV, forcing the band to shoot another more tame offering for the hit single. The first, though, was shot in a gay S&M parlor that included drag queens among leather daddies and other outrageously queer characters.
A bright disposition with a dab of astringent charm is how I remember Brock Hayhoe, a National Ballet School of Canada schoolmate. Because we were a couple years apart, we barely brushed shoulders, except at the odd Toronto dance party where we could dance all night with mutual friends letting our inhibitions subside through the music. Dancing always allows a deeper look.
I started dancing ballet at 15, so when I joined NBS that same year I had virtually no experience. I was so far behind, but I worked really hard. After three years at NBS and two additional years as a part of the post-secondary program, I got a job dancing in South Africa with Cape Town City Ballet. I was fortunate to dance many principal roles, but something was missing.
What would you bring back from the drag world if you ever joined a dance company again? A sense of fun. I think sometimes we take ourselves too seriously in the dance world, and drag has definitely taught me the joy, and the importance, of laughing at yourself and being a little more laid back.
Other options might include dance lessons, movie screenings, daily trivia and bridge lessons. Foil fencing lessons are held in the Queens Room at no charge, though you will need to get on the sought-after sign-up list to participate.
At the heart of a Queen Elizabeth cruise is dancing, and there is dancing every day, morning, noon and night. Most of it is in the Queens Room, a lavish ballroom built for this very purpose. During the day you can find dance lessons here. Every night, there's ballroom and Latin dancing before and after dinner, usually to a live band, as well as dancing at afternoon tea and classes in the mornings. Single ladies are kept on their toes by gentleman hosts. The Queens Room is also the venue for jazz concerts and classical piano recitals. Formal Royal Balls take place every few nights (on the gala evenings).
The other big evening events are the shows in the stunning theater, complete with 20 V.I.P. boxes. A dedicated Royal Cunard Company of singers and dancers stage variety and dance spectaculars (including a performance based on "The Greatest Showman"), which are interspersed throughout the week with guest acts -- a comedian or a capella group, for example.
Queens Room (Deck 2): The venue for afternoon tea and occasional galas, the Queens Room is an elegant space with a stage and a spacious dance floor lit by a huge Swarovski chandelier. Big band nights with ballroom dancing and Latin nights are regular occurrences here. On port days, the lounge often serves as a meeting point for tours.
Lido Pool Bar & Grill (Deck 9): The Lido Pool Bar, at the back of the ship, is the site of the sail-away party on the first afternoon with a DJ playing party music, while onboard performers encourage passengers to dance and there's even a Champagne cart (but you'll have to pay for drinks). Other days, the bar serves patrons at the adjacent pool, weather permitting. A selection of drinks -- including great mocktails -- as well as crisps (potato chips) are on offer. Some afternoons you can even grab a hot dog or hamburger and munch under a shaded canopy.
Yacht Club (Deck 10): The casual nighttime venue onboard Queen Elizabeth is the Yacht Club, which serves as a nightclub with DJ-ed music after hours (9:30 p.m. and later). There is a dance floor, a bar and plenty of seating near windows overlooking the pool outside. The Yacht Club features a full bar with a specialized menu of old fashioneds (whiskey and bitters)if you're feeling adventurous, ask if your drink can come in a tiki cup. (Drinks are not permitted on the dance floor.)
The Dancing With Myself premiere is right around the corner. And with a whopping 96 amateur dancers set to compete across eight weeks, it's only fair we share a full list of the Contestants you'll see take the stage.
"The fun [of the show] is we're not looking for the most precise dancer," Nick Jonas (who is a Creator on the show alongside Liza Koshy and executive producer Shakira) told NBC Insider. "We're looking for the person with the biggest energy and best heart and best attitude."
Catherine of Aragon was born into a family of kings and queens and was destined to become one herself. She was betrothed since she was about four years old to the future king of England. She fulfilled this destiny, but became victim of Henry VIII's inability to produce a male heir. For this reason, she was removed from her throne and her marriage annulled. Although, maybe not the most memorable of Henry VIII's wives, she certainly had left a mark on history.
Catherine was very much an ideal queen. She was supportive of her husband, and like him, she enjoyed music and dance. As queen, Catherine managed the royal household, cared for Henry's linen and wardrobe, ran her own estates, and often supervised in royal business. She also took time and effort to provide the poor with money, clothes, food, and fuel in the winter. She was the only person Henry could confide to in the first few years of their marriage. For the first five years of their marriage, Catherine acted as the Spanish ambassador to England quite successfully on her own. She held off a Scottish rebellion in England while King Henry was off to war in France.

So at the reception, when the bride glided onto the dance floor with her father and I recognized the first few strains of the offending song, I immediately did an internal ice-cringe and thought "Ew mah GAHD." But the father was humming with live voltage from the mammoth naked emotion that he was heroically laboring to contain -- hugging his little bride-daughter to his big chest and trying to half-nelson the tears back behind his tough-guy face, where they were already blazing down in his throat and sunsetting his cheek -- and his daughter, with trembling lip, unhinged her head against his lapels from the awesome sentimental pressure of the moment, and the two of them danced their polite dance, and it seemed like the floor would just crack open and swallow them because the Love was so huge and devastating and more than anybody could handle, and the song's dumb lyrics (something like "Now she's takin' another man's name, and leavin' the house" blar-de-blar) just amplified this feeling like a gong into the realm of the pointlessly excruciating, and everyone at the party cried, including me. Aaaaaw, Dad. Dear Old Dad. Anybody's, ever. The groom and his mother danced, but the song was in Croatian, so nobody cried but the groom's mom, who was a virtual spigot. She could barely stand up, let alone dance. She had to be hobbled back to her seat by the elbows, but we assumed she'd had a little to drink.
