Thanks for responding...I fixed the problem. I figured it was missing some of its bits from the first download because it got interrupted during the process. Native Access was stuck in a permanent loop of trying to install, even the next when I turned my computer back on... So I deleted it and then deleted what I had download before. Then I redownloaded it and the library again. ( 5 and a half hrs ). This time it installed perfectly. Instllation only took 15 min... Kontakt 7 is really a worhwhile purchase, or in my case upgrade. That orchestra from Orchestral Tools is Great!
I have attempted to install library 2 for kontakt . I already have library from kontakt 6 on the same external ssd. There is plenty of room. I have my defaul path for kontakt pointed at the proper external ssd.
To get your free copy of the Kontakt Factory Selection library, simply add Komplete Start to your Native Instruments account. The free Komplete Start bundle contains Kontakt Player, Kontakt Factory Selection, Play Series Selection, and other music production software goodies.
Kontakt Play Selection is another free Kontakt library from Native Instruments. It is based on a selection of presets from three different libraries: Analog Dreams, Ethereal Earth, and Hybrid Keys. Kontakt Play Selection contains 10 presets from each library.
As we already mentioned, the easiest way to get Kontakt Play Selection is to add the Komplete Start bundle to your Native Instruments account. You can then use the Native Access license manager to download and install the library.
The third free Kontakt library by Native Instruments is called Kinetic Treats. It is based on a collection of toy samples. The sampled source sounds were used to create more complex patches with the help of some clever processing powered by the Kontakt engine.
The 88E is a free experimental piano library for Kontakt Player. It is based on an idea by Mattias Krantz, who tuned every piano note to E and then used a giant cover to press all piano keys at the same time (playing the same note).
Impact Soundworks used a similar concept for The 88E library but with a more flexible approach. This virtual piano can play other notes, too, and comes with various adjustments. You can customize the envelope, transpose the keys, apply pitch bending, change the microphone position, and more.
The library was free for a while, but a recent update introduced Kontakt Player compatibility. This means that you can simply install it and use it with the free Kontakt Player plugin without any workflow restrictions.
Soniccouture is offering a selection of free Kontakt libraries in the Free Stuff section of their website. After signing up for a free Soniccouture account, new users will receive the serial numbers required for library activation in Native Access.
At the moment, Sonniccouture is offering six free Kontakt libraries: Choir Horns, RMI Rocksichord, Thunder Drum, Music Boxes, Tube Drum, and Tape Choir. Each library comes with a customized interface for fine-tuning and manipulating the sampled sounds.
Every once in a while, you need to spice up a song with an unusual sound or an obscure instrument. Hurdy Gurdy by Sonokinetic is exactly that, a free Kontakt library that provides a unique sonic texture.
Diamond Jazz Trio is a free Kontakt library that consists of a piano, alto saxophone, and double bass. It is a stripped-down version of the Diamond Jazz Orchestra library which features an entire orchestra.
The library also includes two alto saxophone patches. First is an experimental patch with a loopable sustain and a crescendo triggered upon key release. The second features four reverb types and nice legato transitions.
Arcane by Embertone is both a game and a sound library. Fully compatible with Kontakt Player, Arcane will require you to play a puzzle game before accessing its sounds. There are five instruments to unlock, and one bonus instrument is offered as a prize after all the puzzles have been solved. This bonus instrument is a beautiful alto vocal legato patch that is well worth unlocking.
The crossgrade method reportedly works with the Arcane library by Embertone. Multiple users have reported that they could access the Kontakt crossgrade offer as soon as Arcane was added to their Native Instruments account.
1) Have a look at the serials on your account, and if the library is not listed here and it is not one of our dedicated plugin libraries, it will need to be loaded through the files tab in Kontakt: -account/serial-numbers/
2) All of our product pages denote which format the library is: Dedicated plugin (no serial), Kontakt Player (serial), or Kontakt Full (no serial). Since Kontakt Full libraries require the paid version of Kontakt (an extra expense) a pop up window will appear before purchasing which will ask you to check the box to confirm you own the full version of Kontakt.
As an example, I know quite a few people who've been complaining that they're struggling to find a Grand Piano library that they like, but are put off by the requirement to buy the full version of Kontakt as well (they tend to be students or new, skint composers) when I suggest the Orchestral Grand library. It's a shame because it's such a beautifully recorded instrument. If it was made available in the Originals range, they'd buy it without hesitation.
Thank you for the warm welcome, thank you for your reply
I will take a closer look,my setup in Studio One is quite simple.Probably operator error,ha,ha
Chorus the library is working fine as it is
Recorded with three mic positions and multiple round-robin in a perfect studio environment. The library includes all the features you need to create beautiful and evocative accordion tracks and accompaniments easily.
Includes a lot of highly professional, extremely good sounds for scoring, as well as for orchestral parts in various genres. Probably the most professional free orchestral library out there. A very useful freebie.
While 10GB is pretty large (8Dio level large), if you appreciate electric piano, and especially the Rhodes, a detailed sample library is going to be pretty large (although, I might expect maybe half this size and suspect it could be better optimized) and, at least IMO, the fact that something of this quality level (based on demos) is free is the trade off. From the demos, this sounds comparable to a paid library that would easily cost $50 USD or more. I think it's at least worth downloading and trying out and if doesn't meet expectations, simply delete it. But the demos would sound really good even if this was a paid library. On the landing page, the developer states that this was made for a college thesis, so I would expect it's better than most freebies. The demos are definitely far better sounding than any free Rhodes library I know of. Anyhoo, I think it's potentially worth the hard drive space.
For those who want a smaller library, I would suggest contacting the developer and offering him something to make a smaller size version. If he could set up a way to donate, I think it would be worth a donation. I don't think something like $5 USD or $10 USD for a library like this would be much to pay.
Developer here! Quickly made an account to join the discussion.
First of, it is really nice to see the resonance this library is getting right now. I already had to switch from hosting the files on Dropbox to hosting them on Google Drive, as Dropbox had at one point locked my account because of too much traffic. I hope that Google won't do that too.
I also appreciate all the feedback that I am getting from different sides, and would like to adress some of the issues regarding the ETI ROADS.
File Size and File Format: When I started the recordings for this project, I had to make decisions real quick. One of them was choosing the sample rate for recording. I wanted to leave myself open regarding if I want to use a higher sample rate or not. I could go and downsample everything at a later point, but during the rest of the production it escaped my mind, as there were other, more serious issues. The reason for that would be that the production for the first release candidate had to be done in 3 months, from the conception, preparation of the instrument, recording, de-noising and editing of samples, Kontakt integration, scripting, GUI design, ect ect... as this was part of a bachelors thesis, which leads to the next issue that was brought up:
Budget and Payment: As this was created with recording equipment from my university, I am not allowed to use the recorded samples for any commercial purposes. That is why this sample library is free and always will be. I will not take any dontations for this project either.
This doesn't mean that I won't might take my time and work on an "Ordinary Mortals-Res" version of the ETI ROADS in the future, it just might take a while. The sample rate conversion itself isn't a huge issue, but because I want this library to work down to a Kontakt 5 version, I cannot use the Kontakt Developer Tools, which would allow me to replace samples automaticaly in a few minutes. Instead, I have to drag and drop sets of the samples into Kontakt, then MANUALLY enter the pitch and gain correction values that I need. And this will be hours of hours of entering numbers for each samples. I have already done that once, to make this available for Kontakt 5 users.
I am really looking forward to more of your feedback, suggestions and general resonance. It makes me really glad that this won't be another project, that just disappears onto some university archive computer and will never see the light of the day again, as has happened with other projects from my uni.
Cheers,
Eduard
