Greetings!
This is just a quick reminder that NYC Leaves' Project LeafDrop will be having their Brainstorming/Strategic Planning Meeting this evening at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
As you may know, in 2009, Project LeafDrop's first season, twenty six
community gardens and park groups came together with neighborhood
residents, community partners, city agencies and local officials
resulting in
moving over 8 TONS of residential leaves to compost projects throughout the City. We know we can do even better
this year with your help!
This evening's meeting will be a lively discussion of ways to improve Project LeafDrop's efforts to move residential leaves out of the City's wastestream and into community gardens and other greening projects where they can be composted into rich, useful "brown gold". We'll take a brief look back at the achievements and challenges of last year's activities and then move forward to brainstorm ways to make the program even stronger and more effective this year.
If you are planning to join us, we are really looking forward to seeing you and hearing your ideas and suggestions!
If you can't make it, this evening, we'll be back in touch soon with info about how you and your group can participate in making this season's Project LeafDrop a great success.
Here's the skinny about this evening's meeting:
