Hello!

I was wondering what is Composite all about.
I'm a musician and artist producing electronic (and not only) music
using linux-based systems and libre software.

I saw Composite bundled in repositories of KX Studio. I tried do use
it, I'm very familiar with Hydrogen but all I saw was a clone of
Hydrogen UI which was just quickly re-branded.

So I said to myself: "what the flip was this supposed to be?".
Today I started reading FAQ on Composite's website which told me that
it's not a Hydrogen's fork.
I'm a bit confused what Composite is and what it's meant to be.

But whatever: I'm a musician and 2d/3d artist. If I have some free
time - it's always good to support some Open Source musical project
around, huh?

If you need a logo, a web banner, or just someone to try your software
- I'm here :)
Btw: I'm also learnig to play drums, s I might in your target ;)

Best regards for all freedom-giving coders from a liberated artist!

It's going to be a sequencer with an Ableton-ey-like feel.

The main feature of Composite 0.006 is that the sampler is provided as
an LV2 plug-in. The UI is indeed Hydrogen's old UI -- and is in fact
a broken version of it.

In the development tree for Composite, the Hydrogen UI has been
totally deleted and I'm working on replacing it with something like
what's on the website.

This project isn't quite ready for Prime Time. :-)

Thank you for your reply :)
I have never used too much Ableton, but I see that a sequencer with strong emphesizis on live on-the-fly creation and arrangment would be a great thing to have in the OpenSource universe :) I tried to use LMMS for that, and it's possible, but not too convinient. LMMS is not for that :)

Keep it up! :)

It's bizarre that they bundled that version in the KX Studio repos.

What were they thinking?
