Compose::Melbourne Hang Out And Hack and Launch coming up at YOW! Lambda Jam (13-15 May)

"Melbourne Functional Programming Autumn Festival"

(Well, not quite, but pretty close.)

This is a big year for Functional Programming in
Melbourne: YOW! Lambda Jam here soon (13–15 May), and
Compose::Melbourne later in the year.

With generous support from YOW!, Compose::Melbourne will
be running a couple of free events in conjunction with
Lambda Jam. Both events are at the conference venue,
Pullman Melbourne Albert Park Hotel.

1. Hang Out And Hack
(Monday, 13 May, 8.00am till 5.30pm)

In conjunction with YOW! Lambda Jam, Compose::Melbourne
will be running an all-day Hang Out And Hack session,
on the same day as Lambda Jam's "Welcome to FP
Day". Bring your laptop if you have one, learn and work
on Functional Programming. We'll run "office hours"
(people can request help on particular topics, or offer
to help others); lightning talks; and generally we'll
hang out and hack together. Come for the whole day, or
come just for part of the day as suits you.

This is a free event, open to the whole Functional
Programming community, beginners or experts, whether or
not you are attending the main Lambda Jam conference on
14th & 15th.

Unlike the paid workshops, the free Hang Out And Hack
will not be catered, so attendees will need to make
their own arrangements for food; there are a number of
places within the venue and surrounds, or feel free to
BYO.

2. Compose::Melbourne 2019 Launch Party
(Tuesday, 14th May, 5.25pm till 6.30pm)

As customary, Compose::Melbourne will hold our launch
party — this year in conjunction with the Lambda Jam
Conference Drinks & Networking. So, come along,
celebrate Functional Programming in good company, hear
about what we have planned for Compose::Melbourne this
year, and get together with the wider Australian and
international FP community attending Lambda Jam. This
is a free event for the Melbourne FP community. If
you're already registered for the Lambda Jam
conference, just show up. But if you're not already
registered for Lambda Jam, you will need to register
for the Launch and get a free ticket, for catering
purposes, via the special link below. See you there!
