Loader droids were a type of industrial droids that were used to lift and unload heavy cargo. The Imperial mining moon of Cynda had several loader droids. Count Denetrius Vidian made several changes to their subroutines in order to increase their productivity.[1]
Loader droids were first mentioned in the novel A New Dawn[1] and the audiobook version,[2] which were both released on September 2, 2014.[3][4] Loader droids first appeared in the third episode of the Obi-Wan Kenobi television series,[5] which was released on June 1, 2022.[6]
LoaderDroid is an all-in-one download manager for Android. It can download any file from the Internet, no matter how large or small it is. And it does so with minimal overhead to the device.
It is capable of resuming downloads, pausing them, and canceling them at any time. It is designed to be lightweight and efficient, so it will not eat into your device's memory or battery. It can download files in the background, which allows you to do other things in the meantime. It is also designed to work with the Android operating system, which allows it to download in the background.
It has a user-friendly interface that allows you to do things quickly and easily. It is designed to be simple and intuitive, so even people with no knowledge of the Internet or Android operating system will be able to use it.
NED-B was a masculine loader droid that operated on the planet Mapuzo during the Imperial Era. The droid worked with Tala Durith in an underground movement known as the Hidden Path, which helped smuggle surviving Jedi to safety. He kept watch over a safehouse hidden within the droid maintenance building of a mining village.
Although browsers of the likes of Chrome, Firefox and the rest of them also include their own built-in download managers, dedicated apps can be much more efficient. Therefore, if you usually download loads of files to your Android (images, documents, applications...) we recommend you to get hold of Loader Droid.
With a degree in History, and later, in Documentation, I have over a decade of experience testing and writing about apps: reviews, guides, articles, news, tricks, and more. They have been countless, especially on Android, an operating system... Antony Peel
I looked to see if I could find anything close to the IW-37 or CLL-M2 droids and discovered that I couldn't find any silhouette 2 sized droids, nor were there any lifter droids. I did find a single pilot walker in Keeping the Peace meant for cargo lifting, but vehicle stats and droid stats are two very different things.
If any of you had to stat out these loader/lifter droids, how would you do it?
I personally found that there needed to be some house ruling with encumbrance. These large droids should be able to handle pretty heavy loads without penalty, such as encumbrance 25 or even 30. The cargo hauler linked above can handle 50, and that has a pilot. I ruled that the droids would have 10 + double Brawn as the encumbrance limit, and that items like backpacks also doubled the amount they increased encumbrance limits. For a droid like these, backpacks and similar items were actually reinforced frames, stabilizing repulsors, or removable cargo pods.

Throughout the Star Wars saga, many droids have been overlooked heroes in the fight against tyranny and the dark side. In Part III of Obi-Wan Kenobi, the titular hero and Leia Organa managed a temporary escape aided by NED-B, a loader droid. Ned-B was not programmed to speak, but his actions showed that he was one of the Rebellion's true heroes, in part because most people overlooked him.
In the Star Wars universe, the plight of droids has been a recurring theme. In Marc Sumerak's Star Wars: Droidography, R0-GR explained that while droids and humans worked together in the past, the Clone Wars changed everything because the galaxy began to fear what droids could do, ignoring the fact that the organic members of the Separatist leadership were the ones responsible for programming the droid army to be soldiers. R0-GR further explained, "Those droids who were still in one piece and didn't get deactivated when the Clone Wars ended found ourselves living in an Empire where droids were treated like property and nothing more." While droids like L3-37 protested against this treatment, other droids, like NED-B, used this disregard to help bring down the Empire.
When Leia first met NED-B, she was taken aback by his large size. However, after Tala, her Rebel rescuer, introduced NED-B as an ally, Leia immediately warmed to him and introduced NED-B to her own droid, L0-LA59, or "Lola." Tala immediately interjects that "he's just a loader. They don't allow them to communicate." Tala's summation of NED-B overlooked the fact that despite his inability to make sound, he still did communicate. For example, in response to Leia's introduction, NED-B nods to show that he has heard her and to greet Lola. NED-B instead showed that not all communication requires sound.
Tala's statement that "actions speak louder than words" still set the tone for NED-B's character throughout the episode. Through his actions, NED-B showed his true heroism. First, when stormtroopers investigated the droid repair shop, NED-B stood as a quiet, unassuming watcher. However, he also was shown gripping a hammer behind his back. NED-B's grip on the hammer implied two things. First, NED-B was ready to fight the stormtroopers to protect Leia, Obi-Wan and Tala. Second, the droid also was smart enough to know to hide that he was carrying a weapon to avoid tipping off the stormtroopers to his true allegiances. The stormtroopers were oblivious to the potential threat NED-B posed to them, dismissing him as a mere loader droid. Their dismissal of NED-B prevented them from finding the hidden rebels.
In fact, the only member of the Imperial forces on Mapuzo to recognize NED-B as a potential Rebellion ally was Reva, the Third Sister. While the rest of the Empire's forces were focused on the organic citizens, Reva saw NED-B leave the droid repair shop and immediately suspected that he was hiding something. Reva's acknowledgement of NED-B as possibly more advanced than a loader droid had disastrous consequences because she found Leia on her own. Thus, while NED-B showed his own heroism, his character also helped emphasize why Reva's willingness to think outside the box makes her the Empire's most dangerous Inquisitor.
Therefore, while organic heroes usually take the Star Wars spotlight, NED-B showed once more that droids could be heroes, too. NED-B used the fact that the Empire overlooked him to his advantage. In fact, the only reason Reva was able to capture Leia was because she actually recognized droids as more than property. As the Rebellion continues to try to rescue Leia from the Empire's clutches, NED-B may continue to have a role in her salvation... and the salvation of the galaxy.
The Imperial loader droid was an effective labor machine with a vaguely-humanoid upper half used to manipulate cargo. It was propelled by a large lower half.Tall and imposing, the loader trundled along slowly, but possessed extremely long, spring-loaded arms that could be potentially dangerous in combat. Size of the models varied depending on the particular need of a starship.
These droids were utilized by various factions, especially the Empire and the Imperial Remnant. Rebel hero Dash Rendar encountered an especially enormous version on the Imperial freighter, Suprosa. Jedi Mara Jade also witnessed the use of these droids by the Lumini Pirates during their pillaging of a New Republic escort ship.
@kingu - with KDE connect you could send Files and also the clipboard (copy/paste) from one android to another (same w-Lan)
with syncthing you could sync a directory between two devices over internet (like bittorent-sync)
A droid is a robot that implements the interface "Droid", e.g. public MyBotClass extends TeamRobot implements Droid .Droids can still send and receive messages but they have no radar. Since a bot is defined as being a Droid or not in its class, you can't switch between being a Droid and being a regular TeamRobot on-the-fly. --David Alves
Right now i am making a team of one of my robots. The leaders broadcast the RobotScannedEvent (see above) to the droid, and the droids use the RobotScannedEvent for their radar. However, the droids can't seem to hit sittingduck. Here is the code for the gunning method:
Have you tested it while not moving? Do all droids fire at the same location? In my opinion you should strike the test about gunturnremaining, you want to continuously update the gun to the latest known targetlocation, not just when the gun finished turning. When you move, you must update your gundirection to compensate your movement, otherwise you will indeed miss SittingDuck. -- GrubbmGait
Are there any leagues for very large teams using the maximum size map, which would require the RADAR-equipped robots to be spread out so that you have an idea of what is happening, and the drones to be moved into formation around them as protection. Ther would also be room for more strategy, like using the bulk of your team to defend one side, and sending out radar-equipped skirmishers to find the enemies and allow your drones to engage them befpre they make radar contact with your defenders. There would be several different approaches to this: the first would be to use a regimented approach with drones attached to a specific leader and given a fixed role, which would be the simplest to program, but unlikely to be sucessful, a horde of largely independent melee bots with friendly fire checking and not much else, or thirdly, what I have been trying to implement. THis has the leader designated "captian", a pair of radar-eqipped leuitenatants, and two otehr radar-eqipped robots as scouts. I also have five droids, two attached to each Lt. and one as a meat shield for the captain. Each of the RADAR-equipped robots has the same code, and decides which is relevant to it. If the captain is killed, the best-palced robot is promoted, and if a Lt. was promoted or killed, a scout is used to replace him. If a droid is killed, nothing is done about it, although any robot can ask for droids, and wether tehy get one will depend on thier situation. There are probably other approaches as well, but I cannot think of them right now.
