Dear HPP members,
I think many of you are aware that last Saturday 5th September, Mark (Baker) sent me an e-mail tendering his immediate resignation as Chair of the HPP. After reaching out to Mark, a number of discussions with various individuals, and with significant
regret, I accepted Mark’s resignation on Thursday 10th. Mark acknowledged receipt of the acceptance.
Rob Moritz (co-Chair of the HPP) has very kindly agreed to step into the role of Chair of the HPP (until December 2021) and we will continue the process of selecting an incoming Chair (https://hupo.org/HPP-Chair-Call-for-nominations) who will ‘shadow’ Rob from Jan 2021 and will then, in Jan 2022, take on the role of Chair of the HPP. With the co-Chair position now vacant, please turn your minds to and approach potential candidates for the incoming Chair and co-Chair positions.
In separate correspondence, Mark has informed Chelsea and Grit that he will not be taking part in HUPO Connect 2020 and so there are some ‘immediate’ matters that will require our attention. In the longer term this now provides us with an opportunity to review
HUPO and the HPP and to consider how we may change the culture of the organisation. Like many I have spoken with in recent days, I am very hopeful this will give us the opportunity to strategically build a stronger HUPO and HPP.
In the meantime, thank you to those who have offered their continued support, it is much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Steve
