Paste/Drag removes style from another column

We have a grid setup that has javascript being fired during the
onhtmlreadyevent. The javascript checks another column in the grid and
decides whether or not to set the background color for the main column
to a particular color.
This works fine until a user pastes or drags data into any other
column, it looks like the onhtmlreadyevent re-fires but the column
that had been initially styled no longer has any color applied. Is
this a bug? Has anyone else experienced this?
