we are looking for Data Warehouse Specialist for our prestigious client located at Lisle, IL.

 

 

Position: EDW Tech Lead & Designer (DW Specialist)

Work location: Lisle, IL (LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY)

Duration: 3-6 Months (Contract to Hire)

 

 

 

REQUIRED:

 

Overall 6 years of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence Experience Designing Experience

1. Experience with translating Business Requirements into Technical Design (Must)

2. Experience with designing Star Schemas for storage and access (Must)

3. Experience with designing Aggregate and Summary Tables (Must)

4. Experience with ETL design with emphasis on reuse (Must)

5. Experience with Cube design with emphasis on Security and Groups (Must)

 

Tools Experience

Candidate has to be proficient with MS SQL Server 2008 components with emphasis on

 

1. SQL Server Integration Services (Must)

2. SQL Server Reporting Services (Must)

3. SQL Server Analysis Services (Must)

4. SQL Server (T-SQL) (Must)

5. Data Modeling in ErWin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner or any other industry tool is acceptable (Preferred)

 

Other Expectations

Must be able to multi-task in a relatively small team (Must)

Excellent documentation and communication skills are necessary (Must)

Candidate must be able to demonstrate end-end data warehousing and business intelligence skills applied on at least two projects (Preferred)

Candidate is expected to maintain regular activity logs and status reports (Preferred)

 

 

Role and Responsibilities

• Candidate will have to work on all design components mentioned above.

• Candidate will have to provide direction, tune performance and resolve technical issues associated with the MS tools suite

• Candidate may have to work on tools as and when necessary

 

REQUIRED: end to end DW experience shown on a project

REQUIRED: SQL 2008 experience or comparable:

Since SQL 2008 is fairly new, earlier versions of SQL to get the depth of experience is comparable.

The key is the experience using the tools in a data mart data warehouse environment.

 

Experience writing ETL's from legacy mainframe and server systems to a data mart/warehouse

Experience utilizing SQL Reporting Services 2008 with data marts/warehouse

Experience utilizing MS Performance Point and SharePoint for DW reporting. e.g. stop lights, speedometers, drill down etc.

3-5 years experience required
