BioShock Infinite English Language Pack

BioShock Infinite is a first-person shooter video game developed by Irrational Games and published by 2K Games in 2013. It is the third installment in the BioShock series, and follows the adventures of Booker DeWitt, a former soldier who is hired to rescue a young woman named Elizabeth from the floating city of Columbia in 1912.

The game features a rich and immersive story, as well as stunning graphics and sound effects. However, some players may prefer to play the game with the original English voice-overs and subtitles in their own language. Unfortunately, the game does not offer an option to change the language settings in-game, and requires some manual steps to achieve this.

In this article, we will show you how to play BioShock Infinite with the original English voice-overs and subtitles in your own language, using Steam as the platform. This method works for most languages that are available for the game, such as French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, Polish, and Japanese.

Step 1: Locate the Localization Folder

The first step is to locate the folder where the game stores its localization files. These are the files that contain the voice-overs and subtitles for each language. By default, this folder is located at:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\BioShock Infinite\XGame\Localization

In this folder, you should see at least one subfolder named INT, which stands for International. This is the folder where the subtitles for the English version are located. Make a backup of this folder by copying it to another location or creating a compressed archive of it.

Step 2: Download the Language Files

The next step is to download the language files for your preferred language. To do this, go to the game's properties in Steam, and select the Language tab. Choose the language you want your subtitles in from the drop-down menu. For example, if you want French subtitles, choose French.

Steam will then download about 300 MB of data, which includes both the voice-overs and subtitles in that language. After the download is complete, go back to the Localization folder from Step 1. You will now see another subfolder in addition to INT, named after your chosen language. For example, if you chose French, you will see a subfolder named FRA.

Step 3: Replace the INT Folder

The third step is to replace the INT folder with the folder of your chosen language. To do this, delete the INT folder and rename the other folder to INT. For example, if you chose French, delete the INT folder and rename the FRA folder to INT.

By doing this, you are telling the game to use the files from your chosen language as the default ones. However, there is still one more issue to fix.

Step 4: Rename the File Extensions

The final step is to rename the file extensions of the files in the INT folder. These are the files that contain the subtitles in your chosen language. However, they have a different extension than the English ones, which prevents them from being recognized by the game.

To fix this, you need to change the extension of each file from your chosen language's code to INT. For example, if you chose French, you need to change each file's extension from .fra to .int. You can do this manually by selecting each file and renaming it, or you can use a command line tool such as Windows PowerShell or Command Prompt.

To use Windows PowerShell or Command Prompt, open it in the INT folder by holding Shift and right-clicking on the folder and selecting Open PowerShell window here or Open command window here. Then type the following command:

ren *.XXX *.int

Where XXX is your chosen language's code. For example, if you chose French, type:

ren *.fra *.int

This will rename all files with .fra extension to .int extension. You can check if it worked by looking at the files in Windows Explorer.

Step 5: Enjoy Playing BioShock Infinite

If you followed all the steps correctly, you should now be able to play BioShock Infinite with the original English voice-overs and subtitles in your own language. Launch the game and enjoy the amazing story and gameplay.
