BCB410H1F – Applied Bioinformatics
(50% FCE of Full Course)
Practical introduction to concepts, standards and tools for the implementation of strategies in bioinformatics.


Estimated course enrolment: 25

Schedule: Lectures: Wednesdays, 10am-12pm

Sessional dates: September 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019

Salary:                 $8323 (Sessional Lecturer I) 
                            $8531 (Sessional Lecturer I Long Term
                            $8739 (Sessional Lecturer II) 
                            $8947 (Sessional Lecturer III) 


Description of duties:

 Qualifications:
 Teaching experience at the university level required, demonstrated evidence of excellence in teaching preferred
 Prior experience teaching this or similar course at university level required
 PhD in Bioinformatics or related field required
 R Programming is required

Description of duties:
 Delivery of lectures prepared by other instructors in this course.
 Preparation, supervision and grading of tests and examination in accordance with University regulations as described in the Faculty of Arts & Science Academic Handbook

Preference in hiring will be given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 4.12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.

It is understood that some announcements of vacancies are tentative, pending final course determinations and enrolment. Should rates stipulated in the Collective Agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the Collective Agreement shall prevail.
