My rigging was over 25 years old. So no insurance cover for the rig or indeed 3rd parties if there was an accident involving the rig - which was more worrying. I wanted to set up a furler so it was time to bite the bullet! I have re-rigged a smaller boat before but decided I'd pay someone to do it this time. I was recommended to Jason Neuhaus at Diverse Rigging. Jason is ex Sydney Rigging and as I worked out whilst he was doing the work for Stargazer, he had made up the stays for the little boat I rigged myself years ago and also repaired and replaced the rig when the mast came down on a friend's boat due to a broken tang recently! Small world. He organized the whole operation and re-rigged the Compass Easterly 30 for under $5K including halyards, setting up the furler and VHF aerial and coaxial cable, and replacing pretty much everything including machining new sheaves and a pin. I painted the mast and boom. He and his off-sider Andrew were also very flexible and helpful. Easy to work with and good humoured! Lastly, I will try to upload a pic of how one of the Cap Shrouds looked when they took it off! 3 of the wires broken but hidden from view when on the mast. Diverse rigging have a Face Book page are located in Neutral Bay and have a work boat and will travel. I was really happy with the whole process and outcome.

After my experience a couple of months ago, I can also recommend Colin Beashel at Elvina Bay, Pittwater.  Great job at good prices and a few extra bits included.
Must admit though, I got him to repaint the mast as my spray work leaves a bit to be desired.
