Hi David

I do my C28 every year and there is always things that need attention.

If yours hasn’t been out on ages I would be :

Checking the  water inlet to the motor for obstruction, barnacles and other marine life etc all the way to the motor.

Also all other through hulls as over that period of time I would be surprised if there’s not some obstructions.

Check for blisters either surface or more serious osmosis blisters. These take time to expose drain dry and treat.

Check your cuttles bearing for wear and tear!

Check the rudder assembly from top to bottom again for excessive wear.

Check all  through hulls I believe mine are original and are still in good shape.

Check prop throughly.

Ensure good grounding from batteries to engine if signs of electrolysis on prop I just went through this.

Change anodes .

Hope this helps

Cheers

Anthony

Hi all,

I am having my C28 slipped this weekend for the first time since I've owned
it She was last slipped 7 years ago.

The primary jobs on my list are a good pressure wash, anti-foul, anodes ...more

Hi David,
It would also be worth photographing and taking all critical measurements for the prop so you can work out pitch. I regretted not doing this first time out when trying to diagnose engine issues later.
Also seems a shame not to do 2 coats antifoul while you're out, have the waterline masked up and painting equipment ready to go. It's only another hour's work and a 4ltr tin does two coats anyway.
Regards
David
