Raw water through hull blockage

Hi, my raw water intake has twice been completely blocked immediately above the seacock by small fish getting stuck. I'm not sure if there is away of preventing this again? Should I have a strainer on the outside of the hull? There is quite a lot of growth on the hull and is due for haul out soon.

Patrick,

You can buy and fit an external grill (I think Whitworths or Tamar Marine sell them).

If you go down that track, it's worthwhile checking you raw water flow rate after it's

done just to make sure you're not generating another problem.

I will check it out. Hopefully by cleaning the bottom there will be less fish attraction as well!
