Hi Tony.
On my Northerner 28 I cannot put on a shaft donut anode as there is not a sufficient amount of the shaft exposed between the prop and the cutlass bearing.
I use a Martyr propeller nut anode that replaces the normal propeller nut and so is in contact with the prop. (See attached).
Seems to work for me but then again I am not in the same waters as you.
Cheers

Hi All

I'm having a issue with my prop being eaten away even though I change my
donnut adode right near the prop every year. And make sure the connection
is clean and tight the brand I use is (reliance from Canada)

The anode is being eaten as well but so is the prop only 100mm away.

I was wondering if anyone has had and solved this issue?

I have seen the guppy fish anode at whittworths .

With these you clamp onto the drive shafted and hang the actual fish shaped
anode over the side directly into the water.

Someone commented on here that they had tried more adodes when they had a
issue but it made the problem worse.

I have decided to replace my prop when on the slip latter this month as I'm
not comfortable going far from home with the state mine seems to be in.
Like a pink aerobar!

Also does anyone know if the compass 28s drive shafts have the standard
tapper on the 1 inch shafts.

As I carnt tell until on the slip and I need to pre order the new prop
before I go up?

Oh the joys!

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Tony.

Cutlass bearing should perhaps read stern tube?

Or perhaps it should read Cutless bearing . . . which is positioned inside the outer end of the stern tube ?

Oops, that was a racing prop for a C28 (Anna & Hell an Gone) - Two blades made to be stopped vertically behind the sternpost and a huge 8Hp Yanmar!
