How can we share a common file with all the templates in an extension
without having to duplicate the file into each templates directory?

For example, I want to share a Rakefile with all the templates that
can get un-rolled from the gem.

Rakefile: http://gist.github.com/242915
Gem: http://github.com/pengwynn/compass-wordpress/tree/master/templates/

Thoughts?

I hadn't thought about that, but I guess you can try making a shared directory and using a relative path (e.g. "../shared/Rakefile") when you register it in the manifest.

Chris,

It doesn't seem to recognize the relative path: http://gist.github.com/244461

I guess you'll need to duplicate the file for now. If you want, you can file a github issue for this and I'll look into it post v0.10
