[apologies for cross-posting between various COMPARE contact lists]
Hello members of the COMPARE ecosystem!
Thank you for joining the COMPARE Google Group! Anyone can join the Slack workspace by clicking here or join the Google Group by clicking here if you prefer e-mail. Please feel free to forward those links to any interested colleagues.
We are excited to share that we have launched the home of the COMPARE ecosystem, robot-manipulation.org, which also serves as a landing page for open-source and benchmarking in robot manipulation, including repositories of open-source products and benchmarking assets, event listings for workshops, competitions, and webinars, leaderboards of benchmarking results from across the community, and more.
Please note that robot-manipulation.org is still under construction, and we need your help to build it! We kindly ask for everyone to please take a look through the website, review the various repositories of open-source products (grasp planning, motion planning, learning, simulators) and benchmarking assets (objects and artifacts, protocols, leaderboards), as well as the event listings (events calendar, workshops, competitions). We would greatly appreciate your feedback on how the website is organized, what is missing, and how we can improve it, which can be provided either over e-mail, Slack, or using the Google forms linked throughout the website.
The COMPARE Slack workspace is organized into a series of channels that correspond to each of the ecosystem thrusts; we encourage everyone to join the channels of those that are relevant to your interests. In Slack, you can find channels either by searching or by clicking Channels > Manage > Browse channels. Or you can click any of the links below! Each channel corresponds with one or more pages on robot-manipulation.org, so we hope to generate discussion in those channels on how to improve.
We will be hosting a full-day workshop at the Robotics: Science and Systems (RSS) 2025 conference in Los Angeles, California, USA on June 25, 2025, Benchmarking Robot Manipulation: Improving Interoperability and Modularity, one of several activities aimed at now developing and activating the ecosystem. See the workshop webpage for more information, invited speakers, schedule, and call for contributions: https://www.robot-manipulation.org/events/workshops/rss-2025
COMPARE Summer School Cooperative Hackathon and Benchmarking Exercise
We will be hosting a 1-week summer school with participants from the international robot manipulation community with software components to contribute. More event details and application process coming soon!
That’s all for now! We look forward to continuing these discussions and gathering your feedback. Thank you!
