Dear Companions,

This Wednesday, we will finish the course on John's Gospel by reading the Passion narrative, the death and resurrection of our Lord. Please prepare by reading the Bible text and reflecting on a few themes:

- Pontius Pilate: Washing his hands and asking the famous question, "What is truth?", Pilate is a powerful symbol of not standing up for that which you know to be true, but are too afraid to admit because of the world's condemnation.

- The cross is Jesus' moment of glory: John's Gospel uses royal imagery to show that Jesus is defeating death, not losing to his enemies.

- Jesus and Peter (John 21,15-19): Peter is faced with the task given to him, and the reality of his own weakness. Jesus asks no promises from him, but issues a command - and an invitation: "Follow Me!"

We will begin with the Mass and adoration at 6 PM and dinner at 7 PM as usual.

To those of you who did not attend last time: We distributed an evaluation form to give us some feedback for planning the next phase for Companions. I am attaching the file, so if you have time, please fill it out and send it by email, or bring it with you on Wednesday.

We will go through the feedback then, and bring some suggestions for you for topics to dive into in the coming sessions... Hope to see you Wednesday!

Yours in Christ,
Companions team
