Hi everybody,

Father Richard Hayward from Malmo is coming to celebrate Mass in English at 6 pm on this Wednesday. He promised to be available for confessions for Companions. I warmly enoucrage those of you who are catholics to use this opportunity.

After the dinner prepared by Ivy, we will have Alpha session four covering the topic of prayer. Two weeks ago, I made a mistake as you know, by showing you a session on faith. All in all, it was appreciated by people who shared long time beyond our 21:30 end of the session time.

A short reminder of coming Holy Spirit retreat weekend, May 5-6, in Aasebakken, in houses rented from Benedictine sisters. Please, start signing up with Sumi and for those, who never were in Aasebakken with us, I encourage people who participated in retreats in the past to share their experiences. These two days will be an intense reflection on who is the third person of Holy Trinity, Holy Spirit. It will also be an opportunity to experience His presence and action in more tangible ways in our lives. We will have a total of four Alpha sessions during the retreat; three sessions on Saturday and a single one on Sunday. If you are short of time and cannot give away entire weekend, we emphasise Saturday as the main retreat day.

You will be lodged in rooms with two beds, a private bathroom and toilette. The retreat commences at 10 am on Saturday, May 5 and continue until approximately 3 pm on Sunday, May 6. The cost for two days including meals and lodging is 200 DKK per person. Money should not be an obstacle of participation, thus we encourage those of you who are working in Denmark, to generously cover for those who cannot afford it.

Please, cross these two days in your calendars.

Welcome to Chris who is supposed to touch down from India tonight ;-). Hopefully, he returns with a big bag of Indian sweets.

See you tomorrow.

Greetings,
/Robert

Hi there again,

Tomorrow, it is the second Wednesday on April. As usual, after the Mass, we will have a longer adoration with Taize songs. This time also we focus our attention of Divine Mercy prayer that was a fruit of the encounter between Jesus and sister Faustina.
After the adoration, we will eat Italian this time and proceed with cleaning of parish hall which indeed turned out to be a very energising exercise.

Please, come in a good numbers for a pasta dish with "arabiata" (angry) sauce.

Greetings,
/Robert

Hello everybody,

Tomorrow from 7 pm, you are all invited for Alpha session 3 on "How can we have faith"?

We hope that you are refreshed after Easter break and come back with a renewed energy. I will cook tomorrow so please, come in a good time for Asian Thai cuisine with green bamboo.

As you know, Companions dinner is supported only by Companions donations. If you can, could you make a donation this time as our Companions wallet is becoming like after 80 days of fasting, meaning it is very thin and hungry. If you cannot contribute with cash (we recommend 30-40 DKK per meal), you can use the following number for MobilePay: 22353014.

Thank you.

We are organising Alpha weekend retreat in Aasebakken on May 5-6 with an overnight stay, lodging in a room with private bathroom and two beds. Please, reserve this time in your calendars for a good fellowship in looking at big questions in beautiful surroundings of the nature in spring, good food and becoming closer to Christ and what He brings into lives of those who follow Him. More details will follow in two weeks.

See you tomorrow.

With greetings,
Companions team (Steve, Monique, Ivy, Sumi and Robert)

Hi everybody,

We are meeting on session 2 of the Alpha course on coming Wednesday, beginning with a dinner (by Monique) from 7 pm in the parish hall. After spending an evening on the topic of who is Jesus, we will be moving deeper to the issue of Jesus's death, the necessity of His death and what was accomplished for you and for me through His death on the cross. There will be definitely more time for sharing this evening.

Please, enter the parish hall through the garden (an opened gate is located on the left of main entrance to the church), thus you do not have to walk around the church to get into the parish hall.

We are looking forward seeing you in just 2 days.

Companions team,
/Monique, Sumi, Ivy, Steve and Robert

Hi everybody,

Since many of us are sick this week, we decided that on this Wednesday March 7, after the dinner, we will have a cleaning time of Saint Knud parish hall. Thus, there will be no DVD and sharing.
Alpha session 2 will take place next week on Wednesday March 14.

Thank you.

With regards from Companions team

Dear All,

With this email, we would like to invite you to join us in a greatest adventure there is - to find the answer to following question: what is your life all about? The adventure's name is called "Alpha course".

The Alpha course is an opportunity for everyone to explore the meaning of life and Christian faith. The course will run for 11 Wednesday evenings in relaxed, non-threatening, low key, and friendly atmosphere. There will be a warm meal at the beginning of each session that gives you an opportunity to meet new friends. You will be encouraged during the evening to ask direct and honest questions. The course was designed for people from all walks of life, cultures and ages, especially people who do not believe in God, fall-out Christians and those of us who dare to ask big: “Is There More to Life than This?” – my family, friendship, job, good weather and nice holidays; you name it.

Sumi, and I did Alpha in Tokyo in 2008 right after our wedding, and it was a great opportunity of meeting each other more deeply through sharing, learning from listening, especially to those who were searching for meaning. Some of the issues posed in the course were:

"Who is God? Where was he when I suffered or when I lost a dear person? Why there is so much misery in our lives if God is love? Does God has a plan for my life and if so, am I still free if I chose not to follow it?".

The purpose of this course is not to make you a Roman-Catholic but to help each other to discover who really Jesus is and who is He definitely not and why He said what He saidThe course brought very tangible fruits in our lives. Thus, we would love you to come and taste the same fruits and after couple of Wednesdays, you can tell us if you also enjoy the flavor ;-).

Agenda of the evening:

19:-19:50 Welcome and dinner

20:00-20:25 DVD by Nicky Gumble from Holy Trinity, Brompton, London

20:30 – 21:20 Sharing/conversation in small group

Please, come hungry as we always begin with a warm dinner, followed by coffee & tea.
