bpchar versus char(4)

Hi,

I am unable to find anything on the web about converting bpchar to char(4) because if you convert text to char(4) you get bpchar. I get a type error for my result because it doesnt match the teachingrecord. How do I make sure my concat gives a char(4) not bpchar when cast to char(4)?
