IE6 deleted my favourites!

I'm having real problems with IE6 - for absolutely no reason (I wasn't
downloading anything or sending any mails at the time) it deleted all
my favourites and now won't let me add any new favourites on. The
actual links themselves are still in the favourites folder on my C
drive but Explorer won't see them.

As well as this, I'm not the administrator on this PC but when I went
into the administrator account, everything was working fine! What do I
do to stop this madness??
