Hi,
I thought readers of this newsgroup would be interested in this (already
a bit old) news:
Motif has been released as free software under GNU LGPL v2.1. Its
version 2.3.4 is now available on SourceForge and at ICS MotifZone.
Gentoo already has it, a bug Debian has been filed so that Motif can
move to main, for others time will tell.
The source is at http://sourceforge.net/projects/motif/

By the way, CDE is now free software as well. Take a look at
http://cdesktopenv.sourceforge.net/
