Hello all:

I am having a bit of trouble with KDE 4.9.3 on Slackware64 14.0. I can log
in once just fine, but when I log out and then try to log back in on the
same session, it appears to freeze, and I know that it does "work" because I
can hear the login sound working. However, the desktop never displays, and
it just freezes (visually) right before the point where the KDE icon would
be displayed on the splash page.

Has anyone experienced this before? Is this a known problem? Is there a way
to address it? I should also mention that I am using the Nvidia proprietary
graphics drivers, on a laptop with a DisplayPort connection to an external
monitor, and I have set a default display configuration in the Display
settings of the KDE control center.
