AUDIT: Mon Dec 10 17:09:04 2001: 512 XWin: client 13 rejected from IP
192.168.2.
3 port 2148

I get this error message when I try to su to root, set the display as my
workstation, and run an X application from the command prompt. I know this
is not specific to KDE but I wondered if anyone knows what file I need to
edit to allow me to send X apps to the X Server on my PC using
cygwin/cygXFree86.

I'm fairly new to this, but since my Unix box is in the basement and my
workstation is on the 2nd floor, It's something I'd really like to figure
out.

Try 'xhost +' on the cygwin machine.

All I get from that command is:

xhost: unable to open display ""

I should mention that I am connecting using xdm.

Nevermind. I had to do it on the remote system AND the local system. Works
like a charm now!

Thanks for the tip.

Erm..

Do be aware the "xhost +" makes your system about as secure as one without
a root password.
