I have an HP "QuietJet Plus" printer. This is an ink-jet
printer, close to 5 years old. I wish to use this under
windows/DOS 5 combination. 1st choice via parallel interface,
else serial.

I haven't had any luck with it so far. If anyone is using such
a printer I would like to know what driver is being used, and what
switch settings (specifically A5 which controls the "Programming
Command Set" -- HP mode or Alternate mode).

I called the number in my Quiet Jet manual for help. Number
disconnected. Talked to HP and called their "Peripherial Hotline".
After walking thru the touch-tone menu and contacting a human, was
told that this HP does not support this printer under windows.

I have a quietjet printer which I got to work just fine under windows3 by
using a driver I got off a bbs for windows2 (or what ever it used to be called).I also got a utility called Mark3 which you run on the driver to fool win3 into
thinking it's a win3 driver. So far it works with out a glitch. If your
interested e-mail me and I'll set the stuff up for anon. FTP.
