When I turn my pc on and windows95 comes up there are all of these
minimized c: folder things at the bottom. I started out having a couple
and now it is sometimes 25 or so. It is as if I opened my c: drive and
minimized it many many times. So every time I turn on my machine I have
to close a bunch of those things. There are never the same number. And
now I have noticed that when I cntl alt delete during the day there are
a bunch of c: drives open but none show up as minimized at the bottom.
I have tried to close all of those and reboot my machine but still get
those darn c: things. Any suggestions on what is causing this problem.
Sorry I don't know the technical name for those minimized windows.
Thanks for any help. Ann.

I recall seeing these c: drive references sitting on the task bar of
some Dells I worked on - if I remember right, you can left click on
them but nothing happens, you can right click and close some but not
all?

The Dells had a Disk Management Interface program that ran in the
background to monitor disk integrity - we dumped this from the control
panel and the startup group and the icons disappeared. I also always
wondered if it had something to do with the FindFast utility in the
startup group.
