In order to set up a new partition, you will have to use fdisk.
Use of fdisk means that you lose all information (programs
and data) on the disc. You probably don't want to do this.
Instead, make a new folder called 'program test' and install
into that. It will give you the same isolation that using a
second partition would. If it doesn't give you isolation then
a second partition won't either. There is a slight risk that you
may lose data doing this (either way), so back up stuff first.

So Partition Magic is the right answer. Resize (with no data loss), add,
delete partitions. Although backing up all data beforehand is always a
good idea.
