Brief description follows :

Hardware : Pentium III 450
256MG Ram
2 - 8GB HD (IDE)
1 - Computone Inteliport II - with 2 expansion boxes
(32 ports)
2 - parallel ports (lp0, lp1)
1 - Internal Modem (com2)

Problem : Running a custom application that at times requires database
opening
which looks at historical data .. Files are opened and
records are accessed
with more than acceptable speed ... Problem is when a
user wishes to exit
the program .. It takes a long period of time (10 minutes
is not uncommon)
for the terminal to finally respond and return the user
to the 'menu'. This problem
gets worse the longer the system is left 'running' ... it
seems to be alleviated
somewhat if it is shutdown then rebooted ...

Any ideas .. and thanks in advance for your help

Jay

Check rtpm over time. I'm seeing the KMA (Kernel Memory Area) increase
slowly over time. Seems to be a leak in the 1024 byte area.
