Hello!!!

I was looking for the Tru64 patch kits for my version (V5.1B) to get my alphas going with the latest patches. Haven't been touching my machines for a long time due to illness and to my surprise these patch kits are no longer available for download. There is no way to even buy them. The kits are named as follows:

PK1 ???
PK2 ???
PK3 (V5.1B-1): T64V51BB24AS0003-20030929.tar
PK4 (V5.1B-2): T64V51BB25AS0004-20040616.tar
PK5 (V5.1B-3): T64V51BB26AS0005-20050502.tar
PK6 (V5.1B-4): T64V51BB27AS0006-20061208.tar
PK7 (V5.1B-5): T64V51BB28AS0007-20090312.tar
PK8 (V5.1B-6): T64V51BB29AS0008-20100821.tar

Since I'm into security research, my interest lies in getting all of them.

Maybe someone can help me out with this?

Some time ago, HP limited access to patch kits for Tru64, among other products, to customers with valid support contracts. (This isn't unique to HP/HPE, it's becoming a commonplace industry practice.) If you have a Tru64 support contract, you can open a case with HPE and get the kits. I'm not aware of any public location at which they are available.

Thank you for your reply, Martin.

Since I don't come across an HPE employee every day, I'd like to take this opportunity to ask you something:

EES for Tru64 ended on December 31, 2013, what can still-on-tru64-customers do if a new critical security flaw in Tru64 is found today (privilege escalation or kernel DoS, for example)?

Some kind of 3rd party support, maybe?

Kind regards,

Is this a personal use Alpha, or in business production?

I work for a company called Stromasys that does Alpha emulation.

For hobbyist purposes only on real hardware. I might consider other solutions like emulation at a later point in time. As for now, my hardware is performing well and I'm quite happy.

Thank you :)
