On an amd-64 Solaris 11.3 VM under VirtualBox on my MacBook Pro
(probably not that many packages installed here):

Creating Plan (Package planning: 1/10): |
pkg update: Chain was rooted in an untrusted self-signed certificate.
The package involved is pkg://solaris/consolidation/ddt/ddt-inco...@18.3.18.7.13,0.5.11-11.4.0.0.1.11.0:20180718T212443Z

On a Solaris 11.3 LDOM on my T5240 (probably more packages installed here):
Creating Plan (Finding local manifests): /
pkg update: Chain was rooted in an untrusted self-signed certificate.
The package involved is pkg://solaris/library/python/pyats...@2.18.0,5.11-11.4.0.0.1.14.0:20180814T170021Z

All of these are using the free repositories, i.e. I can't afford software
maintenance. :-)

What's up with this? Never happened before, with my daily update checks,
but today it happened on all my Solaris 11.3 LDOMs and VM's (of which I've
got three and two, respectively).

"In the Hall of the Mountain King", from "Peer Gynt"
(read act 2, scene 6 of the play if that doesn't make sense)

I'll hazard a guess that it is because the repo has been upgraded to 11.4 ?

I've not tried a pkg update of any of my VMs or servers yet to get from
11.3 to 11.4. Maybe next week.

Ah, Shades of S11.2->S11.2 upgrade.

https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37838_01/html/E60977/gmpdi.html

Update the system to Oracle Solaris 11.3 SRU 23 or newer.

If the system to be updated is running Oracle Solaris 11.3 SRU 23 or
newer, continue to Step 2.

If the system to be updated is running a release of Oracle Solaris 11.3
that is older than SRU 23, update to at least Oracle Solaris 11.3 SRU 23.
