I want to use vxfs on my Solaris 2.6 boxes, but Veritas doesn't
recommend or provide any way to use vxfs partitions for /, /usr, or
/var. I don't think that / can be vxfs at all, due to the fact that the
boot strapping process expects a ufs file system to be there and has no
idea how to read vxfs (*poke Solaris engineers*), but before I kill time
toying with vxfs /usr or /var (/usr I don't care about as much, but /var
would be nice to have on vxfs with my needs), does anyone out there have
any experience in doing this?
If you do, what kind of problems have you encountered? Where you able
to overcome them? Thank you.
