Hi, is there a way to find out serial number of CPU board on Solaris?
It seems that SEEPROM on CPU board may contain this
information. However, I don't have a highend Sun server to try
it out. If it is possible, what system command or system call can
be used and what the output would look like?

Thanks.

/usr/platform/`uname -i`/sbin/eeprom

Shows the info you want on E450, E220, doesn't work on Ultra 10, from
what limited testing I was able to do right away.

man prtfru

The output varies depending on the type of machine.

On 3800-6900 systems, you can't get the data from the domain, you need to
run "showfru -r manr" from the system controller.
